Yes, absolutely. Most of ECM's premium prosumer machines, such as the Synchronika, Mechanika, and Classika, utilize the classic E61 group head. This means the highly popular IMS E61200 series shower screens (like the E61200IM and the non-stick E61200NT) will be a perfect, seamless upgrade for your machine.
ECM uses premium 58mm commercial-grade portafilters. All IMS precision baskets designed for 58mm systems (primarily our B70 series) will fit flawlessly into both their standard spouted portafilters and their beautiful bottomless (naked) portafilters.
The E61 group head is an exposed, heavy brass component that gets very hot. Coffee oils can quickly bake onto the standard shower screen. The Nanotech (NT) quartz coating provides a non-stick barrier that prevents oils and grounds from adhering to the metal, making daily cleaning significantly faster and keeping your espresso tasting fresh.
Yes. Adding an IMS 58.5mm Puck Diffuser on top of your coffee bed is highly recommended for E61 group heads. Not only does it distribute the water more evenly, but it also creates a physical barrier that stops coffee grounds from being sucked back into the delicate E61 3-way valve system during pressure release, dramatically reducing the need for chemical backflushing.
