It is not just a simple filter, but a combined system that harnesses the extraordinary mechanical capabilities of the espresso machine (temperature and 9 bar of pressure) to extract in 60 seconds what would normally require minutes of traditional infusion.

1. The Herbpress Filter

The technological heart of the system is a filter specifically designed for herbal blends. Its architecture integrates a 150-micron photo-etched membrane. Unlike coffee, expanded herbs have very different textures and specific weights; this membrane prevents the passage of any solid residue into the cup, guaranteeing a clear, bright, and pure infusion.

2. The Puck Screen Action

Botanical extraction requires placing the Puck Screen (diffuser) directly on top of the herbs inside the filter. This step is crucial for two reasons: first, it cushions the violent impact of water at 9 bar, distributing it evenly and preventing the water from "drilling" through the herbal bed (channeling); second, it acts as a hygienic shield, preventing light leaf fragments from being sucked back into the machine's shower screen at the end of the extraction.
