Ferrati machines are built to bring professional-level espresso into smaller cafes and demanding home setups. However, standard OEM filter baskets can often have slight imperfections in hole sizing, leading to uneven extractions and channeling. Upgrading to IMS laser-cut precision filters ensures a perfectly uniform flow rate, allowing you to grind finer and extract sweeter, more balanced espresso.

The most popular and advanced Ferrati models utilize a standard commercial 58mm group head. For these machines, our 58mm precision filter baskets (like those in the B70 series) are a direct and perfect fit for your portafilter.

Absolutely. Replacing the standard wire mesh shower screen with an IMS precision screen provides a much more gentle and even dispersion of water. This helps prevent the water flow from breaking the coffee puck prematurely, ensuring a more consistent and forgiving extraction.

To maximize the surface area of your coffee puck and prevent edge channeling, we strongly recommend using a precision tamper sized between 58.4mm and 58.5mm. This guarantees a tight seal against the vertical walls of our high-precision baskets.

Yes. An IMS 58.5mm Puck Diffuser Screen is a fantastic addition. It adds a secondary layer of water diffusion to protect the coffee bed and, importantly, keeps the dispersion block of your machine incredibly clean, reducing maintenance time.
