La Nuova Era with IMS?
La Nuova Era espresso machines are celebrated for their solid Italian craftsmanship and reliable thermal stability, particularly models utilizing the classic E61 group head. However, standard baskets can limit your coffee's potential due to uneven hole sizing. Upgrading to IMS laser-cut precision filters and shower screens removes the variables of channeling, allowing your machine to deliver the sweetest, most balanced espresso possible.
Whether you have a prosumer model like the Cuadra or a multi-group commercial machine, La Nuova Era utilizes standard 58mm group heads. Our 58mm precision filter baskets (like the B70 series) are a direct, perfect fit for your portafilter.
Many La Nuova Era machines feature the classic E61 group head architecture. For these models, our highly praised E61 precision shower screens will replace the standard woven mesh, providing a much softer and more uniform distribution of water over the coffee bed.
To prevent water from finding paths of least resistance down the edges of the basket, we strongly advise using a precision tamper sized between 58.4mm and 58.5mm. This provides a flawless edge-to-edge seal inside the IMS filter.
Yes, it is an excellent upgrade. A 58.5mm IMS Puck Screen keeps the internal mechanics of your group head exceptionally clean and adds a final, crucial layer of water diffusion, slowing the initial water impact and protecting your puck preparation.
