The unique diameters of the Cremina and Maximatic mean they demand highly specialized, laser-cut filter baskets. Upgrading to IMS components guarantees that your coffee bed receives a perfectly even flow of water, preventing channeling and maximizing sweetness.
The iconic Olympia Cremina manual lever machine utilizes a specialized 49mm group head. You will need to select our precision 49mm filter baskets designed specifically for this narrow, deep extraction profile.
Unlike the Cremina, the semi-automatic Olympia Express Maximatic features a larger 54mm group head. Ensure you select the 54mm option in our compatibility search to find the correct high-precision basket for your portafilter.
Due to the precise vertical walls of IMS baskets, standard tampers often leave a gap. For the Cremina (49mm), we recommend a custom precision tamper around 49.4mm to 49.5mm. For the Maximatic (54mm), a tamper sized between 54.4mm and 54.5mm will provide a flawless edge-to-edge seal.
