Upgrading to an IMS precision filter basket and shower screen ensures an impeccably even flow of water and coffee, dramatically increasing extraction consistency and flavor clarity.
The majority of Isomac prosumer models are built with a standard commercial 58mm E61 group head. Our 58mm precision filter baskets (the B70 series) are designed to drop perfectly into your Isomac portafilter, whether standard or bottomless.
Since Isomac utilizes the classic E61 design, our dedicated IMS E61 precision shower screens will fit seamlessly. These high-performance screens replace the stock mesh to provide a uniform, gentle rain of water across the coffee bed.
To prevent channeling at the edges of your basket, we highly advise using a precision tamper sized between 58.4mm and 58.5mm. A tighter fit ensures all the coffee grounds are compressed evenly against the straight walls of the IMS filter.
Yes, it is an excellent addition. A 58.5mm IMS Puck Diffuser Screen keeps the internal mechanics of your E61 group incredibly clean. It also adds a final layer of water diffusion, slowing down the initial hit of water and protecting your puck preparation.
