The Maro Model 1 is an engineering marvel, using smart digital profiling to control every variable of your espresso extraction. However, even the most advanced software requires flawless physical hardware to perform perfectly. IMS precision filter baskets provide the mathematically consistent resistance needed for the Maro to execute its advanced flow and pressure profiles without micro-channeling.

The Maro Model 1 is equipped with a standard commercial 58mm group head. Our 58mm precision baskets (often recognizable by the B70 product code) will fit your machine's portafilter flawlessly.

Absolutely. When a machine like the Maro relies on precise feedback loops to adjust pressure and flow, the coffee puck must provide an even and consistent resistance. Standard baskets have slightly irregular holes that can cause uneven flow rates across the bed. The laser-cut precision of IMS ensures the water moves exactly how the machine's algorithms intend it to.

For the most uniform extraction, we highly recommend upgrading to a precision tamper sized between 58.4mm and 58.5mm. This guarantees a tight, edge-to-edge seal inside the straight walls of our baskets, preventing water from escaping down the sides.

Yes. An IMS 58.5mm Puck Diffuser Screen is the perfect final touch. It adds an extra layer of water diffusion to protect the coffee bed during pre-infusion, and more importantly, it keeps the high-tech Maro group head impeccably clean.
